Tasting Notes / Comments: | Very fragrant with aromas of peach and melon. Dry and full with rich apricot and peach fruit. Quite spicy with good structure and length. Corks of Cotham (2000/1 vintage)
Don't miss this one - not at this price...... give it some time because both the nose and the taste open up gradually like a flower. At first the smell is tight giving little away and gradually it opens up with delicate fruits and clear honey sweetness. The taste begins very dry, the high alcohol burns the back of the throat but as you savor it more fruits - peaches - come through. Nows the time to put it to your nose again ...... wow pure Viognier. Complexity, length and please don't cool it too much otherwise you will lose all this. A delightful wine, light summer drinking and it stays with you for a long time...... thanks Rachel for the tip on this one. 'Enjoying Viognier' (2000 vintage)
