Recommended by:Not quite as exotically fruity as other Viogniers .... but its aroma is very interesting indeed. The pervading scents of white pepper and ginger are beguiling .... Unique.
The Wine List 2002 (1999 vintage)

.... serious, complex, complete - and it is superbly high class .... far from lush, and it strikes with vigour yet finesse.

Tasting Notes / Comments:A great wine with delicious pears on the nose and bundles of fruit in the mouth. Good length sharpening in taste
'Enjoying Viognier' (2001 vintage)

A rich and opulent Viognier partially due partial barrel fermentation in French oak. Ripe peach and apricot fruits with layers of spice and citrus notes. Well balanced acidity and a very persistent finish!
Corks of Cotham (2000 vintage)

It may smell rich and honeyed but there's nothing sweet about this white which belongs fairly and squarely in our fragrant but dry section. You've got apples, you've got a fresh zingy feel in the mouth. This is a real nice bit of limited release kit.
Virgin Wines (1999 vintage)

Yalumba has devoted 20 years to growing and making this exotic Rhone variety; this particular incarnation has been created by one of Australia's most highly-acclaimed winemakers - Louisa Rose.
Gorgeously opulent; apricot, peach and spice aromas all feature. The palate is long and rich with citrus fruit flavours.
