.. bravo Fetzer whose delicious, white peach-layered '99, topped up with 4 per cent muscat, overflows with a fine, perfumed style reminiscent of hawthorn - a viognier hallmark ... Jane MacQuitty, The Times - 14 June 2001 (1999 vintage)

Tasting Notes / Comments: | A dramatic twist on the Rhone's classic white variety. Viognier now makes some of the most fashionable white wines in the States and plantings of the variety have tripled since 1994. Exotic aromas of honeysuckle, gardenia and lemon lead on to a palate rich in apricot / peach flavours. Oddbins (2001 vintage)
I think I've just died and gone to heaven! Step inside the pearly gates and make the acquaintance of this positively angelic creation. At its brilliant best, Viognier will take you to places where other grape varieties can only dream. From their home in California, Fetzer have produced a truly ethereal white wine floating in flavours of peaches, apricots and parma violets. Dry and concentrated, pair with fresh trout, ratatouille or seafood salad for a match made in paradise! Virgin Wines (2000 vintage)
A Californian favourite, light and bright to look at. Hypnotic honey and fruit nose for drinking in the bath – good aromatherapy. Honey nose with a secondary edge of oak. People smelt apple, lychees and pears. An intense flavour, more complexity than the others already tasted – someone described it as multi-layered. Tasting smooth with apricots on the tongue and lasting fruit aftertaste. 'Enjoying Viognier' (2000 vintage)
Viognier is a rare and exotic grape variety that is fast becoming very fashionable. It is a problematic grape to grow but when successful produces richly perfumed wines with tropical aromas of peaches, mangoes and pineapples. This is one such version - bold, rich and certainly New World in style. Majestic Wine Warehouse (2000 vintage)
The wine is a gold colour tinged with copper. The nose is full of rich floral notes with apricot-peach and light honeysuckle. On the palate, the rich, sweet floral aromas of gardenias and lush apricot-peach flavour enhance the appealing mouthfeel and moderate, well-balanced finish. everywine.co.uk (1999 vintage)
